Tokyo Xanadu eX+

Placeholder score. This was a "what to play after Persona" recommendation to me, but it's nowhere near that level of sophistication or quality. Too many characters to keep track of. Combat is OK but samey.

I think there's a lot to really like here, but there are issues that keep it from being a truly great RPG, though it's basically a preference thing. The combat is simplistic but feels good. I like the characters. Music's quite good, with some songs that absolutely slap. Story's solid though not super memorable. Linear dungeons. Progression system is not that fulfilling. Way too much dialogue and I don't personally love hanging out in the same city most of the time. - Full Review

enjoyed the npc-driven world-building of the first half to some extent, the writers completely fucked it up in the second half with some truly insulting twists. that white shroud, come the fuck on. also, avoid the "true" ending. good grief. like most modern falcom games, sprinkled with a healthy dose of revoltingly bigoted trash. very fun to play as an action game.
