Really fantastic. The story is typical weirdness from Supergiant and suits the absolutely bizarre art direction and world building. Combat is the bulk of the game, and it's often got limitless approaches, which is where the fun stems from. And the music is some of the best I've ever heard in a game.

Cool, stylish and fun top-down action game with an interesting yet flawed strategic element to it. Banger soundtrack. The background music for the launch trailer was what alone convinced me to buy this. Feels overall better to play and has a better story than Bastion. Check out Super Bunnyhop's take on the philosophy behind the game's story on YouTube.

mechanically excellent, if a little finicky. abstractly the player and opponent take alternating turns, but where the player has all the time in the world to plan out their moves, the opponent acts in real time, and you must react in kind. i spent a very long time exploring all the different skill combinations. also has lovely visual art and decent enough music. narrative is a somewhat overwritten, overserious affair involving romance between wealthy intellectual types, but it sort of works.

Handled the story in a wonky way. Having to install things just to get the rest of the story is a pain in the ass. Losing functions when you die is kind of annoying. But it's a fun game for as long as it sticks around, and the mixture of real-time and turn-based combat is wonderful. There is a lot of depth to the combat actually, and that -- along with the soundtrack and visuals -- is where it shines. There were just a few game design choices that put it back a little for me. Not Bastion.
