Vice: Project Doom

A pretty respectable Ninja Gaiden knockoff. In fact I enjoyed it more than Ninja Gaiden 2 or 3.

Seems to get compared to Ninja Gaiden a lot but this game's mobility is more limited and rigid with your combat options being more robust comparatively. That aside, this is a perfectly solid action platformer - the enemy design is aggressive with placement that manages to keep you on your toes without being cheap or obnoxious. On the other hand, the gimmick levels were pretty shitty and some of the gimmicky level mechanics like the vines served to be more annoying than complimentary.

"Aw man this is a boring car shooting game and oh my god it's now Ninja Gaiden with guns, no not Contra, Ninja Gaiden, this game is kinda fair.
