I loved playing this game, though the story was just really a backdrop for the environment -- it was like Mad Max with superpowers. Combat is good and there are a bunch of different enemies and a nice difficulty curve rise as you move through different territories. Overall, not too deep but a really fun experience.

Fatal Twelve (2018) - Rated 30 Dec 2023

Fatal Twelve is a good visual novel with excellent characters and a mature storyline. The choices made genuinely lead to different pathways and there are excellent causalities that make you have to consider what path to take. Well written, it's a good one.

While of course, it's obscene at times, this game is shockingly good at being a unique strategy game with a tremendous amount of versatility and a strong storyline throughout. Lots of replayability as well.

A definite favorite of mine, this open-world game allows you to slowly open the map as you progress in a way that works very well and allows you to explore and get better at the various powers and mechanics. I loved this one.

The Mass Effect series is among my favorites and this one ranks highest in my opinion. The storylines and characters are so fantastic, and needing to find a balance to be able to maximize all of the companions is a great part of the game.

BioShock 2 (2010) - Rated 23 Dec 2023

I thought this game was fun all the way through. An absolutely enjoyable experience that was different enough from its predecessor to feel like a whole new game, even though the mechanics and environment were similar.

Fallout 4 (2015) - Rated 23 Dec 2023

I progress through this game a little at a time, with sessions that range from great to terrible as you can get overwhelmed easily if you go to the wrong place. So my feelings about it are mixed and it is definitely not at the level of Fallout 3 or New Vegas, in my opinion.

I found it to be slow and boring. I love narratives, and investigative games but I couldn't get into this one.

Days Gone (2019) - Rated 23 Dec 2023

Days Gone has flaws, for sure, but it is a fun, underrated open-world zombie apocalypse game with a lot of interesting features. It does get harder as you press forward, and is quite challenging.
