Glorious return to form for the series... I'll expand on that as soon as I've complete it... in a years time or so...

Something of a reinvention for the series, which was in dire need of some new ideas. The setting is once again stellar, and the new mechanics are interesting, but the sheer bloat of this game (the enormous map, too many meaningless side quests) makes the replay value far less than the earliest entries in the series.

Sliding down the side of a pyramid was a childhood fantasy of mine, and this game fulfilled it. That alone earns this game a thumbs up in my book.

Best one since Brotherhood but it still has a lot of the series' later issues. And god the map is just so fucking big!!!! It's way too unnecessarily big. Breath of the Wild really kinda showed up all these map games for chumps didn't it

Surprisingly good shake up of Assassin's Creed. The world's characters and the stories they tell that flesh out what times were like in the very early times of Egypt.

Generic open world slop. Full of pop ups, overstated tutorials and UI to make sure even a drooler could play without thinking. Opened the menu after finishing the intro and got asked to buy health potions in this single player game. There was no reason to keep playing.

I was blown away by the first few hours. It feels like a real world, where every character matters. Great graphics, soundtrack and immersion. However once the map opens up it does get a bit more repetitive and grindy. The immersion is lost a bit with all the meaningless side quests. The investigation quests were really poor when compared to Unity's and Syndicate's excellent murder mysteries. Overall a good game, with an amazing setting, but flat characters and a too simple story.
