It's... OK, but this series really needs to start prioritizing quality over quantity - a huge map and endless side activities do not a good game make. That said, I did enjoy the characters and dialogue more in this one than in Origins and Odyssey, and the world looks as gorgeous as ever. The skill tree is a hot mess, not sure what they were thinking there.

It's definitely not as good as Odyssey or Origins, particularly in story, but it does have its charm. I like the exploration of Norse mythology, I really love the locations, and the map design is fantastic, making each location feel fairly unique and being large with a lot to explore. However, there are too many missions, and too much to collect, so the game is overlong. Combat also wasn't quite as tight as Odyssey but was enjoyable in its own way once I got used to it.

Oops I played too many of these and exhausted myself. Absolutely gorgeous but the writing is a step back from Odyssey. Ubisoft should just make a series about Kassandra doing wild shit in the timeline like some Quantum Leap thing

It may seem idiotic to complain about too much content in an open world game, but I finished this out of pure inertia, as the ton of content becomes samey very fast and the game doesn't hold any surpises.

This one made me stop playing Assassin's Creed altogether. After just beating Odyssey, I tried to play this as soon as it came out, and it was crashing constantly. I waited until patches fixed it, only to be met with a too-similar story to Odyssey. The presence of microtransactions IN CAMP broke me. I don't like microtransactions. I was tolerating them when they had their own separate menu away from the main game, but now it's present while I'm playing? No, thank you.

AC's tagline should be: same shit, different age.

As a Dane I’m somewhat disappointed that the game didn’t start in Jutland with a young Eivor desperately searching for high places to climb, realizing that the tallest peak is about a hundred meters, and that is what send you on your murderous raid to England. I mean… I understand why they went with Norway (bloody mountain filled snowscape) disregarding historical accuracy, but… come on! Fine game though. A bit too RPG/stat-heavy for my taste.
