Backgammon is one of the oldest board games known. It is a two player game where each player has fifteen pieces (checkers) which move between twenty-four triangles (points) according to the roll of two dice. I know. It's a classic. I've played it a dozen times. Is this supposed to be fun or just a time suck while I'm waiting to die? Did I miss something? Was there strategy? Logic? Story? Excitement? Intrigue? ROMANCE? No, huh. Just roll the dice, huh? Move the pieces. What about the doubling cube? Oh, it's like parsley huh - it's usually just there for looks. Hard pass. Oh! Can I keep the dice cups? I can use those for my D&D Dice! No... you want to keep the set together.

It's just ok. But there is nothing more satisfying that bumping off an opponents piece and then they roll poorly and can't get back on.

Weird how mystifying this game was to me for so long. If you can play Pacheesi/Ludo, you can play Backgammon. It's funner than Chess. I fucking hate Chess.
