I thought the end was a little lame but for the most part this upped the Deus Ex gameplay, making the areas more diverse with more options. I guess it's diminishing returns because I didn't love it as much as Human Revolution or the original, but this series is still fantastic.

pulls an increasingly common trick for modern stories, which is setting the game in a foreign country with lots of unfamiliar proper nouns to trick the player into think the plot is intricate and complex. in reality, it's a dumb story about enhanced people being persecuted their ability to punch through walls and shoot explosives from their torsos. gameplay primarily consists of rummaging through trash in the dark and getting lost in a map system designed in 2004.

The ending came out of nowhere and left a bad taste in my mouth. I was loving the game but figured I was only about halfway through when suddenly the credits rolled. The plot threads and world setup lack closure or even a conclusion. The guy who turns out to be the main baddie felt like a non-important mini-boss even as I was fighting him. A little research seems to suggest that the publishers chopped the proposed content in half and kept the rest for a sequel/DLC.

The story isn't as good and memorable as in Human Revolution (HR) and the ending is quite the cliffhanger, but man is it awesome to be Adam Jensen again! Aside from the story and (lack of) diversity in location, it improves on the very strong foundation of HR in nearly all other aspects. The gameplay is fantastic, the graphics are great, the writing is good and most side quests are really fun and memorable. Hopefully this game gets the sequel it deserved. I always asked for this!

No Hong Kong level, no multiple hubs (not really anyway), and a mediocre plot compared to DE1 and 3. DLC pre-order items that ruin the difficulty curve and make it piss easy. Still a solid game, but those little bits and pieces serve to chip away at what could have been a great game.

A lot like the previous game, just less fresh. Plot and characters are still totally unmemorable. The publisher tried to ride the microtransaction train and got burned, so no sequels are forthcoming. No big deal really.
