Not quite as deep or aesthetically beautiful as the last game (and Kiddy Kong is very lame) but still pretty fun, with clever level ideas and a fun world to explore in your hovercraft.

I never thought this one held up with the first two, and no it's not because Donkey and Diddy are missing. The levels never felt as smartly constructed as the others, but rather often verged on frustrating mazes that always made you feel like you'd gone the wrong route. I'll revisit it one day. Maybe if Nintendo remasters it.

Donkey Kong Country 3 is perhaps the swan song for the SNES. It doesn't make as striking a graphical impression as the original nor is it as innovative and defined as 2. However, the dev team seemed to go for broke and just threw in as many different mechanics as they felt they could get away with and the game teems with creativity but not necessarily refinement. It's more than worth a play as it showcases some of the best creative platforming has to offer.

Just terrible. Stay away from this one if you've played the first 2 in the series.
