The main character, known as The Hero of Oakvale, can interact with people and objects as well as battle foes. Molyneux intended that this game would be a sintesis of freedom in video games, which generated some controversy ate the time it was released.

You grow old faster than a chain-smoker in here! What the heck? Can't even enjoy yourself because your life's running out like sands through an hourglass! You can't die of old age but you sure will look like Emperor Palpatine.

Anniversary edition: Cumbersome controls, inventory and camera. Ok to meh gameplay. Ok story. Ok to meh characters. It's got some charm and a lot of interesting little parts, but they just don't fit well enough together. The gameplay is too boring and cumbersome.

I remember thinking that the way time passes in this game is kinda bullshit. And once you get certain powers, a lot of fights become absolute cakewalks. It's an interesting game, and it was fun to play, but I never want to return to it now that I'm done.

Fable is a puzzling game. In that it never quite reaches the heights of its own ambition. It has a terrific sense of humor and adventure. The story is thrilling and the voice acting is on point. Except for replacing Jack of Blades voice in the Lost Isles edition.
