Go is an abstract strategy board game for two players, in which the aim is to surround more territory than the opponent. Despite its relatively simple rules, Go is very complex, even more so than chess. Compared to chess, Go has both a larger board with more scope for play and longer games, and, on average, many more alternatives to consider per move. The lower bound on the number of legal moves in Go has been estimated to be 2x10^170. (wikipedia.org)

Go, much more than chess or checkers, seems to require an artistic capacity.

Ok, but is very repetitive until you get good, which I never did.

Most elegant and brilliant strategy game ever devised. And it was devised a loooong time ago. The rules are incredibly simple, but the strategy is incredibly deep. I find it more attractive than Chess for several reasons: It's more elegant, it's both tactical and strategic, it's both right-brained and left-brained, it handicaps brilliantly for players of different skill levels, and it has a rich and ancient culture.

I'm not sure if I like this or chess better but Go is definitely a great game.
