The story may be all over the place, but Halo 3 features some of the best moments of the saga thus far.

The flood was significantly more annoying to fight this time around than previously but otherwise a ton of fun. Having the big finale be a driving sequence is a bad move when your series has such notoriously bad driving controls

Near Perfect , Cortana/Gravemind moments could be less disabling tho

Loved this, playing Halo 3 multiplayer on friday night with my little brother on split-screen with our favourite music show on, those were the good times. Campaign is really cool too.

I actually like this one. I beat this on the 360. Pretty good at the time.

A short but sweet campaign and the inclusion of the forge mode make this another stellar entry in the Halo saga. The multiplayer takes a step back and is more refined than 2 which makes it more playable for longer periods of time but the initial fun isn't quite as good.

So drastically different from Halo 2, and yet still so fantastic. Everything suddenly felt different, but comfortably. The campaign offered an epic and satisfying ending, and the multiplayer matched Halo 2 in addictiveness and varied modes and countless memories. Plus things like theatre mode, file sharing, and forge were revolutionary at the time.

Halo's foray onto the Xbox 360 was largely a big success. Improvements to gun handling, graphics, and a better campaign than Halo 2 make it a great entry.

Halo 3 returns to the solid campaign experience of the first Halo, with the better multi-player of the 2nd Halo, to make probably the best Halo game from the original trilogy. Unfortunately, things are starting to get a bit weather worn at this point, so by the end of the game you're just not that excited about Halo anymore. And the multiplayer, though fun, is not keeping pace with some of the other options on the market.

I love games that are simple at their core, but become complex through gameplay itself (i.e., Chess or Go). Halo 2 was pretty perfect in that regard. Halo 3, while still good, was a step down because they added so many elements that really threw off the balance and simplicity of the earlier versions.

The first time I went to a midnight release for a game and I saw people who hadn't kissed the sweet air of the outside world since Halo 2. Digital downloads take away this experience :(
