One of the greatest games ever made. Has an incredible amount of depth, and the amount of scenarios and content is overwhelming. The only flaw it really has is that the game is a bit unbalanced - a lot of skills are mediocre or outright useless, and some factions are overwhelmingly better than others. Whatever you do, don't get the shitty "HD" edition on Steam. Buy the classic version of it on GOG.

So many years later, this is still hands-down the best in the series. I still go back to it now and then to play some random maps or scenarios. Get the complete edition, and look into mods too. There's one I enjoy quite a bit called Wake of Gods, which added even more replay value to an already incredible game.

Iconic game

Ormai ha più di 25 anni sulle spalle quindi la grafica è obsoleta (perfino la remaster risale a quasi 10 anni fa) ed è molto macchinoso; ci aggiungo anche che la storia della campagna è dispersiva e poco appassionante, eppure la giocabilità resta alle stelle: quando si inizia non si vorrebbe mai smettere. Decisamente uno dei capisaldi della strategia a turni.

The best turn based game ever made, 20 years after its release. HD mod and HotA are required for proper enjoyment. The campaigns are great, multiplayer is great, balance is imperfect yet great, the lore is great, graphics are great, music is great, everything is great about this game.
