Jackal

I've never liked tank games (even ones dressed up as a jeep) and the cover to Jackal made it look like the most generic game ever. But it isn't! Konami hits it out of the park with this bite-sized action-packed game where you even get to run over enemies! Sure, it's basic and super tough but once you get the fundamentals down (and add a second player) it's great, early NES fun.

Your player is too close to the top of the screen, it makes enemies appear to suddenly, and the difficulty is too high, but it's a fairly fun game. Despite that, I never felt the desire to play it for very long.

Another unique game where you are in a tank. Plays as a vertical scroll er. Didn't play it that much.
