Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards

The original 40 year old virgin. Trying to get you hands on this game as a pre-pubescent during the 80's was quite the ordeal. All of your friends were too young to play it and you couldn't ask your family members. It had to be some kind of cloak and dagger scheme behind the school, where one of the sixth graders got a bootleg copy from his older cousin and was trading them for pudding cups. The '80s...what a glorious time to be alive.

The only one of the Leisure Suit Larrys that I actually played to anything approaching completion. Amusing sort of 12-year-old boy humor but I can't say I rank it all that highly as an adventure-puzzle game compared to the superior Quest games from Sierra.

Very informative for a young lad. Funny, too.

Sophomoric, but you have to give it credit for the high standard of execution (in vector graphics and the surprisingly adept text parser) and its ability to tap into what the people love. If Sierra is to be believed, this rivals Doom for free sharing among players (they claim they sold more hint books than retail copies).

Ah, memories of trying to guess your way into the game and play it when you're too young. Which is weird, this isn't THAT graphic.
