Max Payne 3 is a third-person shooter in which the player assumes the role of its titular character, Max Payne. A new feature to the series, introduced in Max Payne 3, is the cover system, which allows players to gain a tactical advantage, and avoid taking damage from enemies. To progress through the linear story, players take on enemies throughout levels. The game features interactive cutscenes which transition seamlessly into continuing gameplay; there are no loading screens across gameplay and cutscenes.

Undergoes very strange choices with setting and plot developments but makes it all work perfectly. The noir elements, voice acting, gameplay, and overall presentation are all phenomenal.

I'm a huge Max Payne mark, they are some of the finest shooters ever. This one was so surprising after so many years because they really nailed it. It's the gameplay I knew and loved but with an older, somehow grumpier Max. Great story, and the airport shootout is one of the best shootouts in gaming history.

As a third-person shooter the game is very good but as a continuation of the franchise it's a dissapointment in my book. From the enviroment to Max himself this does not feel like a Max Payne game.

This has as much to do with the Max Payne franchise as the Godfather Part III has to do with the Toy Story franchise.

A disappointing sequel to one of my favourite games of all time. Mechanically, the gunplay took a massive increase in quality, but this isn't PubG: Max Payne was all about the story interwoven between the slow motion bullets. A gritty New York Christmas is replaced with CoD style brown slum fights, and a frankly stupid haircut scene that left me laughing instead of feeling for Max. And Mona's not in it. I didn't break my ass off in MP2 on the hard difficulty to not have her return at all.

Sorry Billy but I thought this one paled in comparison to the others. The gunplay is fucking awesome but you can tell it was basically just a test for GTAV because the actual game is incredibly repetitive. And oh my god the writing FUCK OFF HOUSER YOU DON'T GET IT AT ALL

Please remaster this so I can replay it nonstop and skip cutscenes. Best gameplay. The music that kicks in during the airport level will leave you crawling around in bullet time.

Rockstar ruined the series. The atmosphere that made Max Payne games what they were before this one is simply gone.

A fun third person shooter with the Max Payne famous bullet time mechanic. Decent story, okay characters, and nice setting. What it lacks in style from the two previous titles it makes up for in awesome shooter gameplay.
