This game was so fucking boring to play. I wasn't fond of the repetitive side missions and how limited this game was in terms of control/stealth options. It was clearly designed for occasional sessions rather than long sittings, but that made the overall structure duller to play through. The multiplayer was also a shittier version of MGO, which makes that aspect unappealing. The plot isn't as messy as MGSIV, but it's also far more boring and pointless by comparison.

It's an admirable attempt to translate Metal Gear weirdness to the PSP which I played on the PS3 years after the fact. It is a decent story and fairly good stealth mechanics.

There's so much to like here but playing it on PSP was a BAD idea. The controls were so wank and I was unable to enjoy it. Maybe had I played it on PS3 I'd feel different.

The portable design stops it from being great, but it's worth playing if you're a fan of the series

Certainly an improvement over MGS4 from a narrative standpoint, but that's hardly saying much. While it does boast a much higher gameplay:story ratio than previous entries, and more unlockable secrets than all of them combined, it's mostly held back by the limitations of PSP hardware. The side missions are very repetitive and can get tedious after a while, and the reward is definitely not worth it.
