Minecraft

I understand this game's appeal to certain groups (kids, autists, my retired father-in-law), but it has little to offer me.

It's nice that someone made digital LEGO for all the poor kids out there, but I'm afraid it's not for me.

AKA autism simulator. Initially I thought this game was garbage with awful combat and a boring world having played it ten years ago, But I've warmed up to it after seeing the creative ways the game has evolved and how things like the trapper playstyle allow for interesting, creative strategies in PvP settings. On the other hand, I still find the grinding to be a chore and still think the basic combat is garbo, but there's so many dimensions to this game that's hardly relevant.

I feel like this game would probably be fun once you've invested a lot of time into it, but it starts out so insanely boring that I'm amazed anybody has ever gotten to that point.

I rather lay on my bed and think about life than play this.

I can respect what's on offer, but I don't enjoy it.

I hate these super-free-form, open-ended games. Waste your time more productively. Go pick up litter or something.

I watch people play on Youtube and it gives me an itch to play, and then I start playing and remember I am very slow at the game and it's not that fun to play alone and I don't want to play with people who are crazy good because they will blow past me. Eh. I probably would have loved it if I was 13 or so when it came out.

I really don't understand this game in the slightest and I'm shocked it's become one of the biggest games of all time. Is this the equivalent of the Twilight Saga for Video Games?
