Dropped. Faster version of dark souls with spammable attacks. Environment is more baren. Confusing controls for PC. Enemies lacks awareness if player is not right in front of them. Of course, since it's a dark souls game. You bet your ass you're gonna deal with fustration of dying and repeating sections before the boss fights.

Nioh has its issues such as its bloated loot system with awful tuning, the late game bosses being pretty bleh, and having awkward button placement can make style switching a bit of a drag. Despite all that, the ki and style switching mesh together perfectly creating a lot of cool defensive and offensive options which change a lot depending on what weapon you use. The result is a game that, while perhaps overly snowbally when mastered, allows for cool ways to experiment with its gameplay.

The combat is decently fun for a while, but it just can't sustain a game that goes on far too long, has uninspired level design, reuses enemies too frequently, and has a loot system that felt to me like pure bloat. The fun of exploring is gone when the only reward is some randomly generated junk I don't want to have to deal with. As much as I enjoy some ARPGs which have the same generic random loot explosions, Nioh's felt less exciting and more in the way of the fun than in any other game.

Skip every cutscene, their is a centipede man dressed as a samurai who cares. The dlc ramps up the bullshit with bosses.

The combat mechanics are fun and the level design is usually quite interesting. The main problem is that the game is waaaaaay too long for its own good, and there's not enough enemy variety to stave off the creeping sense of ennui. The story is basically non-existant, which is probably for the better. And the Diablo-inspired loot system can just sod the heck off.
