Hey, remember all the stuff you loved about the Star Fox series? We're gonna have it take a back seat!

Basically a shitty 3D Zelda clone. Unlike Zelda, there's little variety in the enemies you fight (boss battles don't do much to fix this) and the world building is minimal at best. Your tools are far too contextual, there's far too much backtracking with no teleportation, and the arwing sections are too short and feel really shoed-in. In essence, you're better off just playing an actual Zelda than a poor imitation of it.

A streamlined take on the N64 Zelda games, with less focus on combat, and a more linear play-through ushered along by insistent in-game hinting. The Star Fox connection feels like it was shoehorned in after they'd already fleshed out a dinosaur planet setting that had nothing to do with it (because it was) and the last third or so is a bit rushed. Still, all-in-all, Rare's partnership with Nintendo went out on a high note with a great looking, compact and approachable little game.

Unlike some people I have no hatred for this game. I don't love it. But I don't hate it either. Is it a Star Fox game? Hell no. Is it a decently playable Zelda game with Fox McCloud taking the place of Link? Sure.

I'm really not sure what the thinking on this game was. Zelda is Zelda, if I wanted to play that type of game I would. A pale imitation of that type of game given the best non-PC flight sim brand is a massive disappointment by itself.
