The fact this game went unfinished is a travesty.

The best Star Wars game ever written. The gameplay and bugs sometimes detract from the overall experience but the story makes it worth powering through.

A more than worthy successor to the original.

One of my favorite RPG's, features far better writing and characterization than its prequel. It's also one of the few "deconstructions" I greatly enjoyed. While the game does suffer a few of its prequels shortcomings, namely the awkward combat, the sense of exploration is just as great, even if the game does feel unfinished at times. Kreia is one of the coolest villains in any game, and I dug that it doesn't force the narrow "light/dark side" dichotomy most Star Wars fiction does.

It feels horribly unfinished even with the content restoration patch, which is a shame because this game has the most psychologically and morally complicated characters I've ever encountered in a video game.

The most overrated nostalgia goggles game that was bogged down by being basically incomplete with poor pacing. That said, it's still pretty good.

Obsidian certainly had a keen sense of what made the first game so appealing, and this delivers more of that from a fresh angle. Is their attempt at an overarching meta-commentary on morality, "alignment", and companionship brilliant or too clever by half? That may depend on your mood, but it is an interesting take, for sure. It's a pity the ending was rushed in the way it was, though.

[PC] Again the graphics have not aged well. KOTOR 2 had a daunting task of following a classic game, and it delivers...to an extent. The story-line is good but its rushed release did result in a few bugs throughout. The new characters are great, though at times it can feel a little repetitive.

In some ways better than the first game, but mostly just a pale memory of a better game. I loved starting as a jedi, and the minor improvements to gameplay were great. But they took the characters we loved in the first game and either threw them away, or made them unrecognizable in this entry. The story made less sense, and the characters they did give you weren't as entertaining. All-in-all, the game was not as memorable as the first, but still a solid Star Wars RPG.

Better than the first one, very enjoyable. I liked that it was more complex.

Obsidian got fucked on this one but GOD it's so fucking good, regardless. Restored content mod adds that extra 5 points on, so I highly reccomend it. This is probably the best piece of Star Wars media ever created, bar none. Also, Visas best girl.

Damn shame what happened to obsidian here, this had all the right ideas to be an improvement in every regard.

A rushed production hampers what could have been an all-time great. Sure, it starts slow and copies too much of the original KotOR formula but when this shines, it really shines: upping the characters and making the Star Wars universe have more depth than ever before. A master-class of storytelling, characters, and world design from Obsidian. If only they were ever allowed ample time to a make a game. Play with the Restored Content Mod to get the real experience.

I understand very well why people enjoy this game, but the actual gameplay is so bad that it nearly ruins the whole experience for me. RTwP is already a flawed way to stage combat (either make it proper real time or turn based!), and when you combine it with this kind of UI and character system... good grief. Add to this that the game is blatantly unfinished and has a way-too-long tutorial dungeon, and... well, at least I can admire the -idea- behind it.
