This was the no brainer that Nintendo fans waited for for years and when it arrived it was great. A lot of tools to use to build your own levels, and the curated Nintendo levels are also solid (duh). I mean, this was infinite Mario. It had some issues with online stuff but when does Nintendo not? One of the gems of the Wii U that will get overlooked because nobody had the Wii U. Luckily there's a sequel.

Mario Maker is more than just the best utilization of the Wii U gamepad, and more than a creative answer to a question most of us weren't asking, which was: why can't we make our own Mario levels? It redefines replayability. It's one thing to rely on multiplayer matches or friendly traditions to maintain a game's replayability, it's quite another to take a strictly single-player AAA game and make it endless for the foreseeable future.

I sure did have a ball with this, both making levels (though I was never ambitious enough to make a whole Mario game) and playing other people's. I hate the stupid auto-levels so many people put up but I love the people ambitious enough to make whole games, which I played several of. I'm a little bummed they never added the option to put water in above-ground levels; a little lake would add so much visual texture to SMB3/SMW-style levels.

Very good game. You can make your own levels in this or play someones level in this. Great game as this is 2D side scrolling.

The only reason to have a Wii U really, a master class of total garbage levels, weird autistic levels that beat themselves, GREAT levels, good levels and so on.

The thought of making Mario levels turns out to be much better than anyone ever thought possible. The mechanics of putting together a level is incredibly rewarding to say the least and the creativity means that there are constantly new levels to play. It's just Mario bliss.
