Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

The gameplay is extremely shallow but it's decent enough if looked at as an Indiana Jones movie made into a game. Has a fun cast, neat set pieces and really nice looking locales. A shame that the actual game itself is a barebones cover shooter with the shittiest platforming ever.

My favorite of the original three.

For better or worse, turns up everything the first game did. More spectacular set pieces and action, more drawn out combat encounters with bullet-sponge enemies that approach tedium towards the endgame. The addition of stealth combat definitely enhances things at least.

Bland story, repetitive combat, boring puzzles. I played it in 2022.

towards the end the difficulty ramps up mainly via making every enemy heavily armoured which for me made it more challenging in an annoying way than challenging in an engaging way. but thats really my only complaint in an otherwise fun game.

an improvement on the first game in the series

Same as the first game. Puzzles and lack of a radar meter. Difficulty settings from easiest to hardest so about 5 settings. Liked it a lot better when it first came out.

While the mechanics are not quite what they should be but this game absolutely nails the adventure tone, characters, and story. It is a rollercoaster ride everyone should play.

Took what made the first game good and made it great.

Among Thieves is a perfect exorcise in set pieces in a gaming world. Each one is thrilling and well constructed. Nathan Drake may not be the most original hero in the world, but his gruff demeanor and sense of humor still makes him worth following. This is probably the best (non-free-roaming) action game on the PS3.

[PS4] Uncharted 2 is as much a cinematic experience as it is a playable one through its use of flashbacks, a chopped narrative. The stereotypical Russian baddie is a bit of a let down, especially with the final encounter; but the game on the whole is a fun romp with witty banter and Claudia Black.

every step is in the wrong direction. that this series received the acclaim it did is an indictment on everyone involve in the gaming industry. if you're going to write a shitty Indiana Jones movie, at least don't make me play it.

I loved what I could play, but no matter what I did,each playthrough I encountered a game-breaking glitch that wouldn't let me progress any further, and that really soured my experience of the game. Hopefully the bug has been addressed in the PS4 remaster and I can get around to actually completing the game as intended.
