Very nearly as good as Uncharted 2, although the writing doesn't feel as tight, with the story becoming too repetitive, and under utilizing great side characters as well, due to various scheduling conflicts unfortunately. Character development is fantastic though. A high point I think is the hand to hand combat, which makes mixing it up between gun play and punching feel much more satisfying. I actually thought the hand to hand combat felt downgraded in Uncharted 4 compared to this.

On par with the original. Both much better than 2 (still don't get why everyone loves that one). Frustrating at points to empty an entire clip into an enemy's head and he shrugs it off, even on Normal. But hey. The one brute on the ship was a nightmare to deal with. Great music in this one.

More of the more-or-less winning Uncharted formula. Locales and set pieces are particularly impressive, whilst the late-game combat was less enjoyable than usual. Unarmoured enemies walking unflinching through bullets really jarred with me.

Even Co-Op part kept us playing for over a decade. Single Player was beautiful too. But it's too limited and also sooo many but soo many bugs, glitches, and crashes (PS3).

[PS4] Uncharted 3 is weirder but wonderful. There are more plot twists and turns, the characters are more interesting, and the callbacks actually feel rewarding.

Uncharted 3 is maybe the least necessary in the Uncharted franchise but still manages to be both impressive and entertaining. The biggest improvements are another step up in the set-piece department and a further refinement of the admittedly mediocre shooting. The biggest drawbacks are some of the story beats which can feel like contrivance at times and going-through-the-motions during others. It's not that I hate the story, but it is the least tight of the three.
