It's animation may be the best on the SNES and it does an admirable job sticking close to the source material - something maybe harder than you think since there's not much action in the Disney movie. But, you have to admit, this is a pretty shallow experience, as well.

Good, but surprisingly behind in quality when it came to the Sega Genesis game that came out at the same time. Decent but slightly stiff control, and the sound effects lag behind a little.

Platformers have seen a resurgence in the indie market because of golden age relics like this. A licensed game that's actually great?! It used to happen, kids! Gather 'round, let me tell you the story of Aladdin for the Super Nintendo -- a game where the challenge curved organically, the level design remained inspiring, and Jafar spat eggs for some reason.

Capcom came up with such amusing gameplay gimmicks for their Disney games, such as the pogo stick bouncing in Duck Tales, the block-kicking puzzle games in Goof Troop, and the ledge-hanging stuff in this game. In a lot of ways I think Aladdin's athleticism makes this is the secret best 2D Prince of Persia game.
