Double Dragon II: The Revenge

Although inspired by the arcade this is a completely different game and all the much better for it. It's way better than the original NES Double Dragon and I love the mix of 3D fighting and 2D platforming. The problem of weapons disappearing is made worse this time but that's its only real flaw. Well that and its insane difficulty.

The control scheme takes a little bit to get used to but it's not terrible, and the platforming section at the end is a little weird... but I played this again not too long ago and was happy that it still held up. Plus I have a lot of good memories with this game.

Mostly just more of the perfectly competent but (to me personally) relatively unexciting beat-'em-up same.

This is really bad. 4 lives & that's it. It's not a hard game but with it's very limitations & spike difficulty you won't be beating this in 1 sitting. You need to preform knees in this game or uppercuts. They are hard to pull off. Sometimes you'll do it sometimes you won't. Platforming in this where it doesn't need to be. So you'll either die there or at sections where there's huge spikes & big guys are beating you down. Use save states or game genie to beat this.

It was good for its day but would I play this today? No.
