It probably wasn't horrible for its time and genre, but as a fan of the Duke Nukem platformer franchise, I really didn't need them turning it into another Wolfenstein, Doom or Quake.

Played and completed in 2024. Good shooter, but I think I enjoyed Shadow Warrior a little more. Duke 3D was a bit challenging at parts, but fun. Diverse levels. Same enemies. Some cool weapons, some boring ones (the freezer and the one that makes enemies small). Some cheap gimmicks - the sudden spawn of enemies behind doors. Cool babes and one-liners. Overall fun.

Often unclear where to go and I can't be arsed either a) wandering around a level for an eternity looking for an exit or b) tabbing out to look at a guide every time Im stuck. I probably would've liked it back in the day though.
