I think this game has pros and cons over the other GOW games I've played chronologically before this. On one hand, I think the story, characters and locations / set pieces are better in this game than any of the previous games, but on the other hand, I think the gameplay doesn't feel as balanced as those games. Most encounters and even puzzles feel way harder than the first game or the spinoffs, aside from one or two areas from those games. A lot of rage was had.

Really don't like this one. Main problem with this one. Harder to understand puzzles in this. I remember the most annoying puzzle in this game that you had to move dish mirrors in right positions to melt the ice. The problem is it's a huge room to rotate those things to the other end of the room.

gameplay was a bit worse minus less annoying puzzles. then my game kept freezing so had to watch a game movie. loved titan revenge on asshole zeus. kratos kills athena accidentally while she saves zeus. she says zeus is his father. he brings past gaia and maybe more titans from the past for this war against the gods

Action-adventure platforming perfection. Sheer scope of this is unbelievable. Pinnacle of the series still (high hopes for next month).

A relative improvement in terms of balancing its mechanics and being more refined with how it uses throws and collision. A lot of cool ways you can use grabs and environmental magic to use enemies against each other. While the combo system is shallow, it's an interesting action game being more about efficiency than style; in which case it has a lot of cool set pieces and brutality to be satisfying kinesthetically.
