Star Wars Battlefront

It looked gorgeous and sounded just like Star Wars, but it had no campaign... which would have been fine if the multiplayer wasn't dogshit. There were maybe two good modes--and one of them was just normal deathmatch--and the other ones got boring so quick. This was a huge disappointment.

Looks amazing but got boring pretty quickly.

It's hard to rate this because I did spend a lot of time with it and it's so good at capturing both the aesthetic and sounds of Star Wars. Grenades felt heavy when they exploded next to your ear. Blasters pierced. Ships careened into the atmosphere with their respective trademark engine noises. But EA is not a game developer, they're a bank, and all they want is more for their vault. It's a shame what Star Wars gaming has been reduced to.

I have the PS4 version but I don't have PSN. After a certain point it is impossible to progress and single player content isn't enough to justify putting in any effort. Looks good and plays okay but the very way it's designed betrays it. Also, they gave away the season pass for free and I downloaded it, but it's all useless content because it's all locked behind multiplayer. Stupid.

Did EA have a year to churn this thing out? Battlefront remake is a Frostbite game through and through which carries a certain amount of built-in benefits in terms of visuals and sound design (sound specifically is great, possibly better than the movies from which they are based) but the content in this game is thinner than thin, even if what is present is quite polished.

Despite being breathtakingly beautiful, Star Wars Battlefront stands out as one of the greatest disappointments in gaming history. Despite delivering one of my personally most awaited sequels, EA sucked a lot of the soul out of the franchise, removing any meaningful single player and making the whole game feel more like an arcade title.

The gameplay itself is amusing, although nowhere near the level of the original games. All in all, the decision to focus on online play lets this game down.

The game is ok - multiplayer and campaign.

It may be pretty barebone but the gameplay is fine and the different classic settings meticulously made.

Sound and visuals are great but no invert-x.
