Streets of Rage 4

More equals less here. Give me the originals on the Genesis any day.

The best "Streets of Rage" game in the series! (Don't even @ me) With unlockable characters from the first 3 games (in glorious 16 bit graphics) as well as new characters, the ability to use a retro soundtrack, amazing new graphics and character models, alongside familiar game play, makes this a must have for any SOR fan. The game is hard as shit too. I can't even beat the game on normal mode without continues. The ability to play 4 players as well makes this game shine.

I loved jumping back into Streets of Rage after all these years and after seeing it on the free monthly games, I had no excuse. Its a lot of fun with plenty of playable characters from the games history and new alike. Definitely worth a playthrough if you have it sitting in your collection. The DLC is pretty good too if you can snag it in a sale. The survival mode is definitely worth it. Plat difficulty - 3/10

SoR4 is really cool in terms of what it does with its combo system, character variety, and a neutral game that feels satisfying due to enemy interactions. On the other hand, I think the neutral is too reactive and discourages you from committing too hard which makes the combo game REALLY frustrating considering how easily enemies can break it. Maybe that's not a particularly large flaw in reality, but it feels at odds with its ranking system and just makes it overly restrictive.

Fun retro feel to it, but I soon found it to have outstayed its welcome.

A good remake/ripoff of Final Fight. Fun.

This is a good game. I wouldn't say this is trash but at the same time it's not great. Too many things in this game that are annoying from the enemies, bosses and characters you take in this game. Music is straight up garbage in this Even when you pick the retro music, they didn't put the full music in it. They did a poor job. You can play 4 players which is a plus. Other than that for gameplay, stick to Streets of Rage 2 as it is a lot better.
