Fucking beautiful. Yes, the combat system is a bit lacking, but the game and the story are fantastic, and the art steals the show. I felt sick playing this because of the brutality and sense of hopelessness that the characters had. And I've replayed it at least once a year since it was first released. A refreshing take on a tactics style game, and I can't wait to see how the series ends.

I was pleasantly surprised by this. Fun characters a neat look, some challenging fights.

thick, viscous fatalism permeates every pore of this artful lord of the rings homage. your choices are at once hopelessly meaningless and deathly meaningful, their outcomes wholly unpredictable yet irreversibly final. the battle system may have a rather baffling optimal strategy, but i still found it fun.

Has a fantastic presentation, but the combat was insanely shallow and the decision making aspect was utter bullshit. You literally could not tell what the results of your choices will be, and often times picking something like "put your shield up" over "aim for the head" will somehow lead to one of your characters death. In a game that's heavily focused on your party and their presence in your travel group, that's really obnoxious.

Such beautifully depicted misery that's well reflected on the gameplay.

Great atmosphere, and the combat system is unique and engaging. Yes, it forces you to develop "unrealistic" strategies, but so what - it's a video game! Bigger problems are the poor enemy variety and the sophomoric writing style.

the story, lore, setting, dialogue, choices, outcomes, many characters, some of the skill/items/attribute progression was an 80+. but some of the combat and other systems took away from it. like not knowing if you'd be able to do an ability once you moved, and not being able to redo a movement if you messed up, and not really knowing howmuchsuppliesyouneedunlessyoufollowaguideoriftheysaidhowlongthejourneyisandyourememberlol.somecharactersweresidelinedawhilethenpoppedup. bytheendmostwasgettingbetter
