The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dawnguard
Dawnguard revolves around an ancient prophecy predicted by an Elder Scroll. The Dawnguard, an organisation dedicated to hunting vampires, are reformed to attempt to stop the return of a powerful clan of Vampires named the Volkihar... The Volkihar's leader, Lord Harkon, intends to use an Elder Scroll to permanently blot out the sun. The player can choose to either aid the Dawnguard or join the Volkihar, becoming a vampire lord themselves in the process. (wikipedia.org)

vaguely tolerable compared to the base game, if only because serana almost resembles an actual character, instead of an oppressive tolkienesque void. also i fucking love vampires for some reason. ugh.

Literally "WOW! IT'S FUCKING NOTHING!" The expansion. Seriously, nothing happens in this DLC - you expect some big TWEEST but yet... nothing. Everything plays out in the most predictable, boring way imaginable. Even the cool world spaces it adds are boring - despite being interesting locales lore-wise, they're mostly just empty spaces of nothing. It does expand on the concept of vampirism, but even that's barebones and uninteresting. A shame because this DLC hinted at some cool shit.

I shouldn't rank Dawnguard this highly because Serana is the worst follower in the entire game by a mile, but I just loved the crossbows so much.

I have never been able to play even halfway through this expansion despite multiple attempts. If Skyrim is boring, this is concentrated valium.

Vampires are cool and there's some cool stuff in this expansion. But overall, I didn't really enjoy the huge maps that were mostly empty and part of important quests. Decent, but could have been better.

The weaker of the legitimate Skyrim DLC's. It isn't a particularly interesting story and doesn't add all that much in terms of items or mechanics (if you don't want to be a vampire). It's still playable but just not necessary.

There are good parts but also a lot of long, long, long, boring, unimaginative dungeons. Whether you're a badass vampire hunter or a mighty vampire lord, be prepared to spend hours walking in mainly a straight line while an NPC keeps telling you that what you're seeing is beautiful.

You know that episode of Spongebob where everyone ran away from him because he thought he was ugly? You can *become* the ugly in this DLC.
