My sister and I used to play random royal rumbles over and over. What a game.

Despite the N64 having a terrible controller, the button configuration was simple and worked well here. This was THE couch game to play with friends (fuck both Goldeneye and Mario Kart). The create a wrestler was amazing for it's time, as the combination of accessories and moves seemed endless. You could easily lose yourself for days making CAWS. Button mashing to try and break a pin fall or submission was an intense battle amongst friends, so much so that our thumbs would be hurting for hours

I find this ok. They lack entrance and everything else in this game. Gameplay is good though as moves here are simplistic and really well done I find. This is more play your friends though in couch coop because the single player aspect in this is not good like the 2k series or later gens.

In terms of gameplay, it's identical to every other THQ wrestling game that was released on N64 around the time. Which isn't a bad thing, given that those games are stellar. However, what puts No Mercy ahead of those titles is the content it had - a ton of unlockables, a fun CAW system, and one of the earliest (and in some ways, one of the best) attempts at a story mode. There's a reason why so many people continue to mod and play this game the most out of the series. A true classic!
