I really thought this would be special because the atmosphere is so oppressive, and the Xenomorph is terrifying. It didn't click with me like others because the game actually goes on too long and I think the "gimmick" wears itself out. Still got plenty of scares though, would actually work better as a shorter experience.

Dropped. This game is designed to be tedious. It's a combination of stop and move slowly, else you get caught and die. Reset back to save point. Get frustrated you lost progress. Rinse and repeat. Encountered impossible difficulty when you don't follow dev intended script. (AKA mission 3: GOING BACK TO SAVE after acquire tuner cutscene, NPCs are spread out downstairs with no blind spots; no flare). While the alien is RNG based. It's a frustrating game of trial and error + RNG chance you get fked

I love the Alien franchise and this definitely captures the claustrophobic dread of that series. I still haven't finished it as it is insanely challenging and unnerving at times.

Being that Alien is my favorite movie of all time, I have some bias, but Alien: Isolation is by far the best Alien game we’ve ever got. Level design is damn near perfect, leaving the atmosphere to be captured really well. The step back from the traditional shooters really tops this off, opting for slow pace that feels more in tune with the franchise’s roots. The Alien, and it’s dynamic A.I, make this the make terrifying the Aliens have ever been. It will be hard to ever top this.

I enjoy the central conceit and atmosphere of the game but I got a bit frustrated running from/fighting those damned androids.

Isolation is a slow build for sure. This game is for the patient and fans of the ORIGINAL film. If you go into this one expecting Aliens and action, avoid at all cost. It is in true a sequel to the film in Atmosphere and story.

having grown up equally taken and scared by the Alien universe, this game is taylor made for me to relive my childhood nightmares. Needless to say I haven't finished it yet... any day now though... any day...
