I don't love Among Us but it turns out that The Thing in space is fairly compelling, even if it largely depends on who you are matched up with.

Probably better with friends. While it's simplicity and accessbility is part of it's mass appeal, it also limits replay value. More levels or different game modes centered on the same premise, would be greatly appreciated.

It's kind of amazing that this game has taken off the way it has has because, as has been mentioned by several others, it's not much fun at all unless you're in a very good group (preferably one made up of people you know). The best this game can be is quick, no stakes fun. At its worst, it's about as fun as a nice solid poke in the eye.

It's only fun when you have 5-10 friends to play with. Solo cue online is the most frustrating multiplayer experience I've ever had the displeasure of playing, since no one takes the game seriously. Some idiot just writes "blue", then blue dies, and of course blue is never the imposter. But even playing with friends, the game lacks serious aesthetic polish and gets old pretty quickly. I hate lying, so deception games are not my thing, but mostly I just can't remember anything I do in a round.

This game is only functional as a social experience. I would find no joy out of this if I were to play against randoms. However, getting together with a group to play this is gold and there's a lot of creative and funny ways to deceive your opponents. I could do without some of the things that detect that a person isn't the murderer and there could be more diversity in what non-imposters do, but as a social experience this game is gold.
