Family walking in on you controlling a woman with a giant ass shooting her long hair out of her ass while shooting angels with big guns and there's a side boob. It's not worth it.

I'm not a fan of these types of games, to be honest. Way too many combos to have to try and remember. I may not return to a game for a week or two after which time I can't remember how to play it. You'll probably see me repost this review a number of times.

Fun to play, feel gross for playing it.

Bayonetta is fun, kind of confusing, extremely weird, but way more engrossing than something like Devil May Cry. On the other hand, it's obviously the product of someone's fetish so take that for what you will.

The absolute peak of the Devil May Cry style genre, for me ("character action game" supposedly? Not a fan of the term though).

Has aged very well. My only gripe is some of the boss fights are slightly boring imo.

Giddily over-the-top brawler with a saucy attitude that is pretty fun to just kind of zone out to and smash the hell out of endless streams of enemies.

Fun fun FUN non-stop fun from beginning to end it squeezes in fun to the last drop. The cheesy cut scenes and dialogue all add to the style, Even the basics of moving around in this game feel great and it has a wonderful learning curve that leads you into learning about dodging and witch time and into deeper aspects like dodge offset combos. Instead of putting up a boss as a wall where you're forced to "learn the game" to get passed it, this teaches you all through the game with each challenge

Bayonetta sells me just on how the general style is and charisma of it all, even if there's not much to the core plot. The gameplay has spice to it too, even despite all of the things that annoy me like very lame/annoying enemy designs such as the flying ships and fire enemies or how the game glaringly recycles enemy encounters with bosses that are often too one-dimensional to be interesting. But the core mechanics here are super solid and getting S ranks is goddamn satisfying!
