Went straight, died 4 times. Decided to go right, killed some normal enemies, saw an encampment with normal enemies; went to go wreck their shit, a dragon came and wrecked their shit... then mine. Uninstalled. I keep trying FS games because I WANT to like them, they just aren't for me. I barely played this, but I still want to record my story for the generations that follow me. These games are still hard and I am so happy for people who like that punishment. 2022 is for you.

I've dabbled in most Soulsborne games with very little success. This game is just as hard but I am loving it so much! My current score is only based on around 15 hours of play but felt it may be helpful for those sitting on the fence. There is so much to do and discover and, whilst I always feel like a goldfish in a pool of piranhas, I never feel that there isn't something I can do or achieve

All I’ve done for the last three days is play this game I think it might be my new favourite game holy shit

A vast, gorgeous slog—where FromSoft’s trademark combat meets empty fields and copy-paste dungeons. The legacy dungeons (Stormveil! Raya Lucaria!) shine, but the recycled bosses and horseback tedium drag it down.

Souls games aren't my style, so I'm heavily skewed here. I do find this one somewhat playable, which says a lot.

The perfection of fromsoft's formula and just a real good game all around

I finished it and ai don’t think I will playing anything like this any soon. It’s among my strongest memories, among the most intensive experiences I’ve ever had. Not having really the correct skills I was struggling badly with progressing - that said I could still feel in every moment that i’s masterpiece.

Best Fromsoft game I've played so far, perfect blend of open world and difficulty. Music is amazing as always when it comes to FS games, awesome weapons and animations to keep playing this game on new game +. This game isn't for the feint of heart but if you can endure the difficulty of ER you will have an amazing experience. Elden Ring is the golden standard for that genre and it will be hard to pass.

A visual feast and the lore is a deep as the gameplay. But ... I just don't love this world. I can appreciate all of the artistry and expertise in this and still not love it for me.

Yeah idk. Visually impressive but I didn’t love it, I don’t know what to tell you, send an assassin to my house or whatever you need to do

Prepare to die, but only if you're not gud.

Endless content but the controls and gameplay are purposefully clunky and difficult to play. A true open world game but with a lot of grinding.

Incredible realisation of translating the Souls formula to an open world, filled with incredible locations, enemies and snippets of lore. The sheer variety of possibilities to mould your playstyle to your preferences is amazing. I just wish bosses were enjoyable.

Elden Ring is one of the best games ever made, and my number 2 game of all time. This marks the first time a game has taken me 200 hours to complete, and I STILL wanted more after that. This game solves most open-world clichées. It has undoubtedly the best open-world of any video game. It is only beaten out by Sekiro, which has superior combat and doesn't overwhelm me with choices. Many people love ER's variety, but I feel constant FOMO for not trying out X build or using Y weapon.

miyazaki's idea of "adventure" is binding running to the same button as jumping backwards #cathedraloftheforsaken...clunky & outdated gameplay mechanics aside, elden ring offers so. fucking. much. value in content, challenge and replayability that i can relate to everyone who drops this completely overwhelmed and puzzled after the first few hours. luckily i didn't, because the community always offered ample advice how to prepare myself for the suffering that lay ahead: try fingers but hole.

My 2nd FS game after Sekiro. Way more BS enemies in this game. Open world is flawless, but inconsistent boss quality/repeated ones led into some fatigue in the late-game. Spirit ashes are lame (the OP ones at least) and literally every time I used one except summoning for the last boss I felt like I was making the game too easy and more boring. Despite those problems, this is still jaw-droppingly incredible and thrilling and frightening in all the right ways. It hurts, it hurts so good.
