Saints Row: The Third is the first Saints Row game that takes place in the city of Steelport. Much like the first two games, the story revolves around the Saints destroying and absorbing three rival gangs, taking over the city in the process. In Saints Row: The Third, these three gangs are the Morningstar, the Luchadores, and the Deckers. Unlike the first two games, these three gangs are all controlled by a criminal organization known as The Syndicate, which the saints must also deal with.

I feel like this game hit a tipping point with me. The craziness reached a point of diminishing returns within 30 minutes

Still very fun and good but the humour is fucking horrendous.

I had so much more fun with this game than I expected at all. I don't like GTA and I think this game hits the spot that GTA should have occupied with how non-serious it is and I can actually go back to it well after beating it and have lots of fun. The first thing I do is get that neck tattoo off my character though.

Everything interesting about this game only existed in 2011. The humor was very much a product of a very specific time and place and as a result is horrendous today. The gameplay is quite bad to the point where the weapons are boring as hell. Still, it is quite creative and some of the jokes do land.

Pretty fun to play, but a step down from its prequel in a number of ways. The game world is a lot less interesting than SR2 and there's much more recycling, the game is generally easier, and the writing is sloppier. It does some things better, though - the gangs are more unique, there's better enemy variety, and the game feels more mechanically refined. Overall, I'd say that the second game is better because it does the sandbox elements better and the mission structure is superior.

I believe this is the most underrated SR game in the series I play, and it deserves some recognition. It was created during a time when Rockstar were still doing productions for GTA V, with some wacky characters and a solid storyline, this is a pretty solid game. While not as good as SR2, I think it's better than SR4 (but this is merely just my opinion.) I'm pretty sure everyone can agree that the 2022 Reboot made by Volition is dogshit. You're better off playing this game OR SR2 instead.

I gave up on GTA after GTA IV took itself too seriously. I appreciated that this game focused on the over-the-top silliness, and it was quite good when it was all mindless explosion fun. But really mindless. I had no clue where I was or what I was doing, I was really just following the markers and hoping for the best. Eventually a couple difficult, annoying missions made me lose interest.

The best Grand Theft Auto game ever.

Sure it's overly silly to the point of being too much, but I had a good time playing it. That being said, I played co-op which tends to enhance fun, and I also have not played 2 to compare it to.
