If I wanted to fuck triangles up I'd fail geometry again.

Definitely dated because back then the polygon technology was supposed to be so cutting edge and so beautiful. Nowadays people wonder where the rest of the Arwing is. But Star Fox, despite lacking sound and graphics, was so fun to play, to navigate, to beat. If it's not your cup of tea don't worry. They'll remake it a half dozen times.

The graphics are hilarious to look back at but the soundtrack has aged beautifully (that Corneria level theme is actually one of my favorite video game OST tracks of all time) and it's entertaining to play in a very retro kind of way.

A spectacular fireworks display of polygons set to one of the most impressive soundtracks of the 16-bit era.

something about this feels wrong. the entire point of a flight simulator is to create a kinaesthetic experience like that of being a pilot, and that doesn't work with a D-pad. the first person sequences are somewhat better, but it's worth keeping in mind that this was a tech demo as much as an actual game. following installments in the series would fulfill the promise, but I'm not sure there would have been a chance had this game received the criticism it deserved. Star Fox is better as Zelda.

I was never a MASSIVE Star Fox fan but I enjoyed it. However, we don't really get many games like this anymore, at least from big publishers, so playing this again made me a little nostalgic and allowed me to appreciate it. Sure, the visuals have aged awkwardly but the shooting/flying is still solid.

Pretty impressive what they managed to do considering the limited hardware. Pretty clever level design leads to some pretty fun sequences. It is very unforgiving in a way that some old games are. On SNES but almost NES-difficult.
