I think this was the last of the CoDs with really great multiplayer, before it became a clusterfuck of dudes flying around like superheroes.

I liked that I could play it online with a friend on the same screen, so I knocked it up a few points... but CoD still just isn't for me anymore. Shooters are so reliant on how they feel and your personal preference will weigh heavily on that, and I just no longer like how CoD works.

Besides fixing some obvious flaws (like nukes) and jsut general minor tweaks and refinements, it offered nothing new to the series, and will likely be completely forgotten in the years to come.

Another Call of Duty that I wasted endless hours playing. I can't remember the campaign at all, but who plays those games for the campaign. The multiplayer is a slight improvement over Modern Warfare 2, and this was before CoD games got stale and repetitive.

MW3 felt like a respective step down from it’s previous two iterations. This when people started really questioning CoD fatigue as the game had little innovation, pretty average campaign, mediocre maps, and some horrible weapon balancing. That’s not even mentioning the horrible “CoD: Elite” system in place for new updates/DLC that was later dropped after it’s lone year here. This game was rushed and was kind of a surprising mediocre entry in the pinnacle of the franchise.

Very good game. I basically like almost all the Call of Duty games. Some I beat on the hardest settings. This one I beat on hard.

There are some things that I can get into this game: the multiplayer is largely the same, I do enjoy the survival mode a lot, and it plays fine. However, that single player story is so dumb and so over the top! It's like a Michael Bay film, where each level endeavors to top the last in how bombastic it is. A better game than some people give it credit for, but silly as butt.

This is the first Call of Duty game which I would call middling. As far as finishing the story, it does a mediocre job but the setpiece-style of the story mode is just losing ideas and has bad execution. The multiplayer is also a slight step backwards. The maps are bland and uninteresting, the weapons are not well-considered and feel like they were not tested before being put in the game, and the general game-flow feels off, like Sledgehammer was brought in last-minute to get this out the door.

It was ok. I liked the campain, but the online features were nearly impossible and multiplayer wasn't fun for me - for some reason.
