Music & Rhythm
Guitar Hero II is the second installment in the Guitar Hero series. Like in the original, the player uses a peripheral in the shape of an electric guitar to simulate playing rock music as notes scroll towards the player. The game features more than 40 licensed songs, many of them cover versions recorded for the game. Since its release, Guitar Hero II has been met with both critical and commercial success, helping the Guitar Hero series become a cultural phenomenon. (wikipedia.org)

The height of Guitar Hero, later games only got progressively worse. I always felt it was a mistake for Harmonix to hand this series off rather than simply killing it, but who knows what happens behind the scenes.

When you finally beat Freebird on expert when two weeks prior you were failing Bad Reputation on medium.

Back in the day I may have rated this higher because it is undeniably fun, even though I never got into it as much as some of my friends. Right now I have no interest in playing something like this anymore. You can apply this to every Guitar Hero that I played, partially because I can't remember the difference.

Something about pretending you're a rock star just appeals to me. A game to play at a party after drinks and people start to leave, or alone when you're not invited to those parties. And, if you own a copy, now you have fake plastic guitars looking ugly in your living room, or taking up space in your closet, or just sitting in your garage reminding you that you'll never play this again.

One of the best rhythm games ever conceived. The playlist is great, the game is well-produced, and the plastic guitar works as it should.
