Good, but a step down from Warcraft II.

I was never much of a Starcraft guy but I won't deny the general awesomeness of these games and how cool the setting and factions were. I can't say much about the competitive quality of this game but from what experience I've had with it I can definitely say it has a lot of merit. The campaign in the game was pretty enjoyable and I loved the way they pulled off each faction, especially how all of their stories came together.

Mostly played the user created maps, never was good at the main game.

Played the second one first (ok, I've played this one as a kid) and I must say a lot of improvements were lacking but I guess it was the time's limitations (like seeing if you have idling drones for example) and yet I've had a lot of fun and the game was challenging enough to not be boring while I was frustrated at times.

Huge amounts of nostalgia for this. 13 year old me found the "I think you just hit some poor fella's dog, sarge" cutscene endlessly hilarious.

I like the first three Warcraft games but this? I don't get the hype. Similar mechanics, didn't find the missions as fun, too gloomy and visually uninteresting. There's also something intuitive about chopping trees and mining gold that you just don't get with gas and crystals.

I appreciate the achievement, but I never got into this like others did.

Warcraft with a different wrapper. Frustrating and I didn't find it had much good story.

This is my score for all of Starcraft, including Brood War because I find it essential to the base game. So, I'm not an RTS guy, but when I saw some guy on a school computer had managed to install a demo and watched him play, I was hooked. And I remained hooked through all of high school. Years of my life dedicated to this game. It's my perfect RTS.

Personally, I enjoyed Warcraft and Warcraft II more than Starcraft, but I understand that tastes will vary. The game was fun, but I never really got into the campaign. Still, solid multiplayer with three cool factions made for a lot of really memorable afternoons.

The first game I ever played online. I don't know what was worse--me or my internet connection. I've never understood how people had the manual dexterity to be great at games like this, but it was damn fun nonetheless.

I played it once and I was too busy building my base to actually attack or win or do anything. I'm just not wired to play these games correctly.

An excellent game, but by this point I had had my fill of real-time strategy games.

I can't include Brood War into this rating because that is a separate expansion, so this gets knocked down a few pegs. The original game was fun but not really a world-beater. It is very solid and has some surprising story moments.

This game was ok. I'm guessing atm that I really didn't like RTSs.
