A weird one to rate. At least they did something different here and it's nice to spotlight the green-clad brother. It's not great, though. Who of us would have played it if it wasn't a launch title?

Good game, though definitely flawed. The camera is probably the biggest of them, it's hard to see where exactly you're aiming because the camera is directly behind you. There is too much backtracking later in the game. The Boos mechanic is tedious. Occasionally you get hit repeatedly in succession. Some solutions to rooms are too cryptic or don't work unless you're very precise. Few times I don't know what I did to solve room. Overall good though.

A fun little adventure, though it did have moments where the pacing dragged a bit.

Luigi's Mansion is by far the most unique entry in the franchise up to that point. Giving Luigi his own game was well overdue and he did not disappoint. Luigi's Mansion doesn't overstay it's welcome, it offers significant replay value and the silent protagonist is animated with enough personality to keep you invested the entire time. Even during the endlessly repetitive music.
