Every game boiled down to me either putting in too many fireplaces or taking out swimming pool ladders.

For 2000, The Sims was marvelously new and full. Even just the part of house building and decoring is still greater than most of the today's house flipping games even. And all DLCs ? Just the music and the sound effects of the game was brilliant. The Sims part is a bit depressive to be share but still was a great game.

That one game we ALL played back in the days. Some created beautiful houses, some pulled their characters through the daily grind, some drowned their Sims in the pool or created lesbian mansions. To each their own, and we all found our own. Especially with the money cheat codes.

It was great back in the day. Limited, but great.

The Sims is loaded with objects and humor to be sure. As long as the novelty never wears off. Which would be entirely possible considering most of the best aspects came from the overwhelming amount of expansion packs.

A cute entry into the simulation marketplace that brims with brightness and creativity. The "ramp" isn't very well considered but almost everything else is solid if not great.

If I recall, this is the first video game I ever bought through saved-up allowance money, and boy, many hours of childhood were wasted in this. The Architecture/Interior Deign aspect is a lot of fun, but I've never gotten much joy out of the Simulation aspects. Has aged terribly considering the sequels are the exact same thing, but with far more features and variety.

It was ok. I hated telling people to use the bathroom.

I never felt that there was enough time in these games. By the time my sim got home from work, I had him fed and he used the bathroom, it always seemed like time for bed, and then time for work again. The tedium of daily life. Entertaining, but only for limited spans.

Although I appreciate what you can do with it and some of the stories of what players did was hilarious, it just didn't grab me. I knew people who just used it as fashion and house planning simulators and I didn't really care about doing any of that. I'll watch people do goofy things with the game but no, not for me, sorry.

I liked how I could just take a "me day" whenever I wanted. Ah, if only life were like the Sims.
