Puts most platformers to shame, but did they really have to use a doorbell sound for when you open the blue paths? The number of times I paused the game and checked the front door is just embarrassing.

Amazing level design and perfectly precise controls. I tried to play Tropical Freeze immediately after this and it felt like awful floaty shit. The first notably hard game I ever completed (without assist mode).

Can't say Celeste's narrative particularly grabbed me but the game is solidly designed. I wasn't too fond of certain level gimmicks such as the wind level and you can make the case that it's very much an execution test but I think the mechanics lends itself to a lot of versatility and I do think the momentum shenanigans are solid, even if levels don't particularly accommodate for them too well. I'd rate it lower if based on the main levels, but bonus levels do a lot of cool shit that I love!

I got stuck because I am not good at difficult games but what I could get through was fun

Tricky, yet generous with checkpoints. I never really got too frustrated and always felt I was constantly improving and could overcome whatever was in front of me with a little practice. Great soundtrack.

Great platformer. I really enjoyed the mix between levels that required some level of patience and the ones that require you going balls to the wall. Surprisingly resonant story. Music slaps.

Good gameplay, but the dialog and story was boring and annoying.

A pretty excellently designed platformer that I'll probably never finish or even get very far in.

Starts out excellent, and remains good, but gets less balanced.

The peak of my gaming life was climbing mount Celeste, the best platformer ever made.

i knew what this was about going in so the narrative perhaps didn't impact me as much as it would have otherwise, but beyond simply being a pitch perfect platormer, celeste is both aesthetically and emotionally lovely. particularly lena raine's soundtrack, wow. very direct, honest theming which while might feel a little obvious, is refreshing in a way. nothing hidden behind irony.

It’s a good one. The new mechanics added for each level don’t ever get bad, which is unthinkable for platformers.

I thought this would be a good game but not nearly the success that it is. I'm not willing to go 100 but this is a really great game. Not a fan of hard games generally but I did play as intended without the fantastic Assist Mode, which makes it accessible. Wonderful soundtrack, emotional story (but maybe the hype/reaction is a little overblown). Not willing to say it's beautiful visually but it's fine. Platforming feels great; simplistic in theory, but smooth and the level design is clever.
