Mirror's Edge

I hear people say this is a cool speed game but the standard game is pretty meh. The level design is rigid in pathing and use of mobility. Any deviation is either death or some garbage FPS combat. On the other hand, there's a lot of cool ways to utilize movement and there are cool ways to make skips through this. I might appreciate this game more from a speedrunner's perspective, but honestly, this game makes me feel too nauseous to even bother. :(

I always liked the concept of Mirror's Edge. However, it didn't quite deliver on the premise. Most importantly, over the course of the game it began to rely on gunplay instead of the core idea of parkour. There's enough here, esp if you're into the time trials, to be worth your while but not the iconic must-play I expected.

The game thrives on its flow when running through the levels, which unfortunately rarely happens because this is a typical trial and error game. It slows you down permanently because of your mistakes and not only through that, but also through the poor and imprecise control and non-intuitive pathfinding. The game needs to be more polished for what it wants to be. In addition,an Unreal Engine 3 game, which, who would have thought it, also means that it runs poorly and is prone to errors & crashes

While the concept sounds amazing and the game is absolute rush when it works, it sadly doesn't work more often than not, and 1st Person and Jump'n'Run just isn't a very workable idea.

A great concept! Even though at first I thought the game would have been better in third person like Assassins Creed after you get used to the controls and view it becomes an amazing experience.

Urban terror jump mode is better.

There's no way I can finish this. Awful, trial-and-error combat, story is cookie-cutter and the characters lack personality. I have no words to describe how unimportant this game feels to gaming. Interesting idea, lacklustre execution. Doubt I'll be checking out the sequel.
