When this came out it was easily the best 3D Mario since 64. The level designs are so fucking good. Yeah I'm the player who always picks Peach what of it

Chaotic with friends but still awesome by yourself. The 3D platforming feels crisp, much like pretty much all Mario games, the level design is inspired and interesting with lots to do. One of my favourite Mario games but one that has so far been trapped on the Wii U.

I hate how rigid the momentum is where there's only two states of speed and physics but I do think there is some fun in trying to beat every level while maintaining a fast momentum. The level design can occasionally be grating such as the panning levels which are overly slow. Other times levels don't do enough with their gimmicks and it ends up feeling stale. But overall, I think the game plays enough with level design gimmicks and is paced well enough to be decently enjoyable.

Every level is created by leaders of the industry, it's almost too good. You come to a specific level with a certain gimmick and then you never see that again, because the next level is something else that's new, and so on, and so on. Major props as well for Nintendo finding a way to take the Mario Bros. co-op and shift it from aggressive to playful.

Boring, the only "challenge" is the bad perspective and often poor controls.

As someone who just got a Switch and never really had Nintendo consoles (except the Wii very briefly), this made a great (re)entry point to the pure unadulterated fun of Mario. Only downsides are that many of the levels are too short and that it's quite easy to get every hidden star on your first try, but there is tons of end-game content to make it worth your while and the general escalation of difficulty toward the end is well handled.

In a sense this kind of felt like a step back from the Mario Galaxy games, simpler in every way from level design to graphics/music to gameplay depth, but on the flip side it was one of the most fun games ever to play co-op with my wife.

This is terrible. While still playable they added motion controls to this game. Which really takes the fun out of the game because now you need to concentrate a lot more to get from point A to point B with said timer running down. They add all sorts of gimmicks in this game just to make it that much longer. Also you'll have to re fight bosses if you do a boss level over again to require either missing stars or a stamp.

Level designs are genuinely perfect, but the problem is the collection of green stars is compulsory in order to get to the next levels. Gameplay is fine and the game atrracts you with the creative and funny mechanics.

Not the most unique Mario game, but arguably the one I had most fun with.
