DOOM
2016
Action, Shooter
Developed by id software, the studio that pioneered the first-person shooter genre and created multiplayer Deathmatch, DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat - whether you're obliterating demon hordes through the depths of Hell in the single-player campaign, or competing against your friends in numerous multiplayer modes.

Lots of cool guns, especially the one that fires epinephrine injections straight at your own face.

I hate checkpoint save systems, so that's problem number one for me. Problem number two is the fact that the game runs out of new and interesting content quite a while before the endgame. The final few levels just feel like more of the same, and the base gameplay simply isn't as addictive as it was in the original.

Absolutely one of the most mechanically satisfying, visceral, adrenaline-fuelled nostalgia-reboots of all time. A game that takes cover based tactical combat, punches it in the face, and leaves it winded in the 2000's where it belongs. The storyline is almost non-existent, and that's a plus: hell's broken loose, and you're the only one angry enough to stop it. And that's all the plot device you need to slap a grenade launcher on a shotgun and raise Hell.

At first, the game is intriguing—running to epic music and killing demons feels exciting. But after a while, it turns into a grind, and you just want to delete it.

Frenético, adictivo, violento, bestial, dantesco.

It's too gory for me, though a well made game as far as it goes.

[completed on Hurt Me Plenty] Kind of repetitive - all I can remember is just a blur of carnage.

This game crashed through the wall of my house, kicked me in the balls, changed my radio to industrial thrash rock on max volume, and injected adrenaline straight into my jugular. DOOM had me smiling and on the edge of my seat from start to finish and remains, by a wide margin, the best re-imagining of a video game to date.

I came into the Doom franchise on Doom 3. I was looking forward to 2016 but it's nothing like 3 and I'm kind of disappointed. This is great as a fps with plenty of gore, but it isn't genuinely scary like 3. Nothing really jumps out at you or just shows up in the dark. Having to find all the secrets and complete rune challenges just to improve guns and armor isn't really fun either, and I love collecting things. Also, I absolutely hate the double jump timing.

Great singleplayer fps experience - which is a rare thing. Drags out a bit, but worth it.

DOOM is the prefect shoot em up. It is absolutely relentless. My heart was pounding and my face was constant reaction face. FPS done right.

This is a fantastic addition to the series. My biggest problem is that I think it's a little TOO much fanservice, and it could have done more to expand on the older games to do more of its own thing. More new weapons, enemies, things like that. And the final boss was especially underwhelming.

Great reboot.

Someone described this as the mad max fury road of games. Exactly. A hallway simulator with brutally repetitive gameplay.

Probably my favorite single player fps. I honestly can't think of one I've enjoyed more. It's a masterpiece.
