The Mass Effect series is among my favorites and this one ranks highest in my opinion. The storylines and characters are so fantastic, and needing to find a balance to be able to maximize all of the companions is a great part of the game.

Fantastic game! Improved a lot over the first game imo. Great cast of characters, a fantastic story, and choices seem to feel important. They also significantly improved the vehicle exploration of planets, as well as had a better overall balance of missions, although it did go a little long for my tastes. Music is also fantastic, with the end theme reminding me of one of my favorite songs from Doctor Who "I Am the Doctor"

There's a reason this game is the one with all the memes in this trilogy. Too bad it wrecked the main plot and that of the trilogy though.

The pinnacle of the series, it leans heavily into the choices-matter selling point and that really invests you. Some great characters.

Bioware's peak. They took an industrial grinder to the tedious ass first game and came out with something I want to play again and again.

In certain ways it's better than Mass Effect 1 but in other ways I liked the first game better, it felt more thoughtful where this game felt more action oriented. Really cool missions though.

it's weird cuz this probably felt like a 90. then i got a ps4 and started playing destiny 2 etc. when i came back this felt so outdated. but the story and character shit is still great, especially the characters. this was the best one-game character stuff. i wish i played it back when it came out and didnt follow a guide. they plussed liara's romance to comp as my fav over morrigan. the action movie rag tag story and pacing was nice. i loved omega. and your friends coming back or cameos

The characters are on full display here and fortunately, this is among the best work that BioWare has done. It also has refined gameplay and has a general better coat of paint than its predecessor. Everything about this game exudes brilliance. It's truly one for the ages.

Profoundly weird sequel to Mass Effect 1, insofar as they changed it from an action RPG that sucked into a cover-based shooter that is slightly more playable, but has no story other than recruiting characters to play the only mission in the game that doesn't involve recruiting characters. Oh, and all the characters are stupid.

The smoothest of the Mass Effect series in terms of total gameplay experience, but it significantly dumbs down the plot, cuts away at the hard-ish sci-fi worldbuilding of the first game and just feels like a humdrum journey from one setpiece to the next. Worth playing. It's just disappointing that it gives up so much of the feeling of the first game.

The best instalment in the series, mostly because I actually found some of the companions interesting, And, yes, Miranda has a nice butt. But I still can't pretend that this is a good game.

One of the best RPGs ever. It makes you want to do the side quests to save your crew (I mean there's always a few sacrifices). Easily the highlight of the series.

The second one is a bit more console-friendly, but i think that the complaints was exagerated. Was still a great game.

ME2 has the same high quality level of suspense as 1 but with refined controls and is overall an extremely solid RPG shooter.

The strongest entry in the Mass Effect franchise. Tight gameplay with an excellent story, engrossing characters, and a generally interesting world. There's a reason why it's considered one of gaming's best RPGs.

Don't think too hard about anything. Just appreciate the candy coating a serviceable story shooter. This space opera has got a lovely cyberpunkian neo-noir sheen.

As an evolution of the first, it's more easily digestible and it certainly has some advantages over the original. It was a lot more immersive than I thought it would be before I played it and overall, I had a great time with it. The end of the game is kind of blah but at least you can get there and never feel like it was a trudge. Also, like the first, I never got busy with anyone, and I'm fine with that.

A space opera that exceeds Star Wars in its moral complexity, and level of emotional engagement. The best game of the trilogy and to date, the best example of branching narratives I've yet experienced in a game.

This improves upon the actual shooting but in the process of becoming a better cover-based shooter it loses some of its depth. It still does a good job with its characters and story, but the plot is actually lesser here because it comes across like a bit of a retread. The main villains are a rehash, making this less exciting in that regard. However, I got no major beef with this game, it's fantastic too. I just prefer the first a little bit more because it's stronger as an RPG.
