too cartoony. the character switching is great. the gameplay is the best yet (not saying much for GTA) the soul is gone with the GTA Online bullshit. My hopes are not high for 6 after the 12 years they have had us wait with NO STORY DLC and 5000 bullshit GTA online releases. blegh! GTA4 online puts this to shame. Sickening they took this series of all series and kiddified it. Gross. Get your heads out of your asses Rockstar

The highlight of this game is that you can play as a taxi driver. My least favourite moments involved air and sea transportation. There's a mission where you have to drive a car while someone in the passenger seat constantly reaches for the steering wheel and tries to make you crash - that's what flying a plane feels like.

The city is the most beautiful city I've seen in a video game, even 10 years later. The details, the vibrant appearance. As for the story, of the 3 heroes, only one has a narrative arc, and it's not that great. And what's up with Trevor ? I'm not really sure what they were trying to do. He's mean, like a bully, doesn't really have any redeeming qualities... he is mostly unpleasant to play. The missions are cool when there's some cinematic flair.

Really polished and detailed game. The irony is that driving in this game is phenomenal, but driving to any GPS destination turns to staring at the map, which really kills the vibe. First heist is amazing, rest meh. Most missions has over-the-top parody/weird/obnoxious character giving you chores to do (except Lamar) and lots of GPS driving. Plane controls is horrendous on PC. F is a cool & chill. But M & T are endless charade of irritation and anger. Last mission should've happened way sooner.

I had to put points down for this game...While it's still the best GTA game...If you haven't played this in a while you'll forget basic things in this...You need to go in settings study the controls for a min to get back into this.. Once you beat these games...You don't want to play them.

Still the best open world sandbox game to date. Every iteration of this game was my favourite at the time of release until the next game came out to take it's place. What makes these games great is that you don't even have to play the main game to have a great time. You can do so many activities without ever starting a single quest. Can't wait for GTA 25 in VR, where you can just visit your friends apartment in game, chill and play video games together. Story mode be damned.

Great main cast and solid story arc, with decent gameplay and so much to do, be it interesting or not. Vehicles, especially flying, can be a chore, and the need to make wide swathes of minor characters insane sociopaths detracts from the fact this is one of the main defining traits of a playable character. It's still rather good.

This is the weakest entry since II. The story goes back to being bad. The tone of this game is a shotgun blast of sarcasm and bad hot-takes about the time in which it was set. Nothing sticks as a result. The gameplay is still quite tepid and can't hold up this fairly so-so entry into the beloved series.

The first video game I completed since I was a kid. Pretty fun, the best missions were the ones that were shootouts. The missions with any sort of flying left something to be desired, but maybe that's just me because I'm really bad at it. Obviously a killer soundtrack, but the music during the mission where you go to that snowy place is incredible and one of the few times you really get a cinematic feeling. There's nothing better than flipping your car in the air soundtracked by Burial.

So much happens in gaming these days. Innovations are introduced at an almost rapid pace, and so it's sometimes difficult to remember the ceiling-shattering ripple effects some games have had on the industry. No so with GTA V. This game is still in the news, still breaking records. It took the exemplary gameplay in its predecessor and inflated it tenfold, then excised the drab atmosphere and reveled in how outrageous these characters and situations are. It's just a goddamn experience.

[PS4] The stylised graphics, the soundtrack, the idiosyncratic characters, and the brilliantly funny dialogue make this a fun game from start to finish. Whether you're on a shooting rampage or just driving down a highway in the wonderfully created world, this game is the prefect blend of satire and escapism. Definite replay value, despite an inkling of micro-transactions.

the best in the series, bar none. the writing is legitimately good, with the mission where Michael has to take his family to therapy being a highlight. the three character gimmick really takes it to the next level, bringing out a true role-playing element, which feels especially distinct after the blank slate that was Niko Bellic. I still wish the world had more to do that be destroyed, but this is the peak of the series, and it should only get better.

The game definitely has a problem with its portrayal of women, (and to a lesser extent, racial minorities) and deservedly should be criticized for it, but at the same time, it's created one of the funnest and most-expansive open worlds out there and it's one of the most biting satires of American mass culture in any medium.
